Produced by Bòlit, Contemporary Art Centre. Girona, the exhibition Recursos propis [Own Resources] is on tour around five art centres in Catalonia: ACVIC. Contemporary Arts Centre, Cerdanyola Art Museum, Ripollet Cultural Centre Art Space, Sala Muncunill in Terrassa and Espai Betúlia in Badalona.
The Recursos propis tour forms part of the Culture on Tour programme of services offered to councils by the Department for Cultural Cooperation.
The exhibition, which was on show in Girona in 2009, aims to provoke thought on new technology-driven models of organisation and knowledge exchange through the work of ten artists with very different backgrounds and styles.
By touring different art spaces across Catalonia, the exhibition invites the public to believe in their own, changing world and thus to think and act, to design and play a role in situations by creating their own creative tools.
Culture on Tour
Recursos propis is the ninth travelling exhibition the Catalan Ministry of Culture has produced and made available to councils. Its tour forms part of the Culture on Tour programme run by the Sub-department of Artistic Promotion, which aims to bring the public closer to theatre, music, dance, circus and the visual arts. In this last area, the programme is designed to boost councils' cultural activity and make contemporary art more accessible throughout the region, with particular emphasis on raising awareness of the public contemporary heritage in museums and collections and increasing interest in this art form.
